David Carney

Dave Carney, 53 an experienced actor turned writer after a long time making excuses not to. I have acted in a wide variety of plays and came back to acting recently after a break. My writing is informed by the directors and fellow actors that I have worked for, equally amateur and professional. I write for the actors and audience to try and attain that balance that connects. My own style mixes humour with the key issues and relationships in life - bitter sweet. The one act version of my first play Dum Spiro Spero was directed by myself at Daneside Theatre, Cheshire in July 2007 as part of the One Act Play Festival. A Two Act version of Dum Spiro Spero is also available and being reviewed by several theatres currently. I am also working on a full length play "The Youth of Today" and a Children's story entitled "Mischeavous Molly" both of which will hopefully be available by the end of 2014
