|Synopsis||When four expectant mothers agree to attend a group therapy initiative, chaired by Doctor Cathy Morton, their lives are put under the microscope. Julie is a rape victim, Sharon, is having her last child before her husband's vasectomy, Rachel is pregnant for the last time after two miscarriges and Stella is a surrogate mother for her sister.
The first meeting turns out to be counter-productive, as emotions, tantrums and recriminations overshadow the proceedings. Stella confesses that she had sex with her sisters's husband as well as I.U.I. treatment. The rapist's wife arrives and demands that Julie hand over the baby when it's born. Rachel and Sharon re-access their reasons for becoming pregnant.
As the months pass and birth day approaches, an unlikely bond is formed. Will they all get what they really want?|
|Cast||6F (minimum 6)|
Cathy (40's) Julie (20's) Stella (20's) Sharon (30's) Rachel (30's) Karen (30's)
|Production||A boxed set depicting a clinically clean conference room. Props should include, a water dispenser, flipcharts, waste bins, several tables and chairs OHP and screen and bowls of sweets. There should be little change to the set during Act One. As Act two opens the physical change in the cast is apparent. Scene Two shows the logical change in their appearance as the play comes to a close.|
