SynopsisSENIOR MOMENTS A collection of four one-character plays (or ‘talking heads’) designed for performance either separately or collectively. The plays have been developed for actors who include ages 60 to 90 in their performing range. Each play lasts approx 25 mins MAGGY One morning in the cafeteria of an Edinburgh department store, Maggy, a widow, finds herself befriending a handsome stranger who is young enough to be her son … TED As he unpacks his possessions on arrival at The Limes Retirement Home, Ted, an East Ender, reflects on his life - and the nurse from whom he was separated in World War II … ELSIE In her flat in Greater Manchester, Elsie awaits the arrival of her forty-two year-old son. Duggie is coming to live with her after a two-year separation, following an unpleasant incident … FRANKLYN Franklyn is due to be evicted from his Hove flat. An ageing Lothario, he has always traded on his charm and good looks, but time and luck have almost run out …

Full-length plays: EARNEST ENDEAVOURS, award-winning comedy-drama, using characters from 'The Importance of Being Earnest', which played to enthusiastic and packed houses at Wickham Theatre Centre in February 2011. DANGEROUS THING, a contemporary four-hander, that was well-received in a reading by The Group at Theatre Royal Stratford East in June 2009. THE PORTRAIT OF A LADY*, an adaptation of Henry James' novel, which successfully premiered in April 2003 at Bromley Little Theatre. Other plays: FREEDOM PASS (Alt. title 'After Life'), presented as part of the Sevenoaks Summer Festival in June 2008. SENIOR MOMENTS - Four 'third age' one-character plays :'Maggy' and 'Franklyn', presented by the Green Room Company. 'Ted', premiered at Wickham Theatre Centre. A fourth monologue, 'Elsie' is awaiting production. ALL THE WORLD AWAY Presented at the New Cavendish Club in November 2012. A short play for two women (playing age 30s/40s) concerning two sisters who were VADs in WW1. Ned also regularly contributes to Sardines* theatre magazine where his work includes interviews with: Sir Ian McKellen, Ray Cooney, Bonnie Langford, Nigel Harman and Sam Walters.
