|The Real Buddy Mars|
|Author||MENDOZA, Geoff - Other Plays by this Author - Contact Author|
The action takes place in Ellie Lovewell’s bedroom.
Ellie (aged 14) has invited 5 friends for a sleepover. Four of them: Chloe, Scarlett, Gina and Kirsty have already arrived. They are waiting for Saffron. Also present in the house is Ellie’s mother, Molly.
The play opens with the girls dancing in their dressing gowns to a record by Buddy Mars, the ‘latest’ rock star.
When Saffron arrives she is dismayed at her friends’ attitude towards Buddy. An argument takes place between Saffron and the others.
Molly comes into the bedroom to tell the girls to quieten down but gets involved in the argument. This leads to her revealing that she knew someone called Brian Marks when she was at school who looks remarkably like Buddy Mars.
