Cinderella | Author | PAUL, Simon - Other Plays by this Author - Contact Author | Format | Full-length. | Synopsis | A basic take on the traditional pantomime. It was first performed under my direction in January 2009 and is noted for being the inaugural production of the Southfields Theatre Group from SW London. It played to packed houses to audiences ranging to a few months to octogenarians so it is pretty well suitable for anyone. WE did have one person complain that the character of Cinderella was demeaning to cleaners but, well, there's always one!
The script has a few local references that can easily be changed. The music used in the production can be your own choice or feel free (when you've purchased a licence) to get in touch and I'll let you know what we used. | Information | | Cast | 11 parts, any apart from the Cinderella and Buttons can be cross-gender. The ugly sisters particularly should be played by males, preferably large, rugby-playing types! (minimum 11) Cinderella, Buttons, Ginger and Brazillia (the ugly sisters), Baron Klaus von VolkswagenAudiGolf Hardup and his wife, Tipsy, the fairy Godmother and other exciting parts. | Production | The original production was done with a very basic set.
